Medical journal says WA / OR drug possession laws didn’t impact drug ODs

Morning Ride with phil vandervort

KVI's John Carlson interviews a recovering drug addict who is now creating and implementing drug rehabilitation programs to get addicts clean and sober, Ginny Burton. Burton responds to a Journal of The American Medical Assocation (JAMA) report that relaxing drug possession laws in Oregon and Washington did nothing to impact fatal over-doses in both states. Burton talks candidly about her own work contacting homeless drug addicts in tents and homeless encampments. She also discusses the impact that harm reduction policies have on increasing fatal over-doses. Burton is a University of Washington Foster Business School graduate who had been arrested and jailed for drugs in Pierce County and cites 'separation' from addicts and drugs as the most effective form of sobriety and recovery.

Anglo teacher says reading books to kids is racist, but is it?

Morning Ride with phil vandervort

In 21st Century political virtue signaling, political progressives will say and do almost anything to cast something as racist. Case in point, a school teacher presenting in a Zoom/Teams call concludes that reading books to children to help them learn is racist, because, hey, that's what white people do. KVI's John Carlson takes the audacious stand that its not racist. See if you agree.  For attribution, here's a link to the video in question.
