Maui photographer: “obscenely rapid ” fire “engulfed” Lahaina

GUEST: Clint Hansen, a REALTOR® and Broker in Kihei, Hawaii on Maui has recorded drone camera video of the Lahaina fire devastation that has now been seen across the globe. Hansen tells KVI "obscenely rapid" fire "engulfed" Lahaina destroying the charming town on the western shores of Maui. Hansen says thousands of people are hospitalized. "The winds were out of control. The (power) lines were clackin'. There was no electricity. There's a lot of different theories about how the fire started", says Hansen. "People reported seeing a fire cyclone almost 200 feet high (in Lahaima) and just a wall of heat (that) was so intense that it burned the boats down to the waterline. I mean the harbor has just disappeared", Hansen adds. Hansen suggests KVI listeners and others donate to the Maui United Way to help all the island's fire victims as they recover.
