About the Northwest Auto Show
A lifelong gearhead from Ballard, Russ Randall has spent more than four decades under the hood — and behind the wheel.
After early days working at Nick’s 76 Gas Station and L.D. Smythe Machine, Russ found his calling at Service Center Speed Shop on Aurora, where his passion for drag racing took off. From piloting a nitrous-injected Honda drag bike to competing in NHRA Super Comp dragsters across the West Coast, Russ built a reputation for speed, skill, and technical know-how.
He later co-owned Honest Performance speed shops, operated Performance Engine Development and Performance Prep, and in 1992 founded Doctor Injector, now with multiple locations throughout the Pacific Northwest, California, and Arizona.
Russ began appearing on the Northwest Auto Show in the late ’90s as a technical expert and fill-in host — and more than 25 years later, he’s still sharing his deep automotive experience, offering practical advice and trusted insights to listeners across the region.
