While attending Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest in Phoenix, KVI’s Ari Hoffman and producer Zach scored an unexpected and memorable interview with racing legend Danica Patrick.
Hoffman spotted Patrick making the media rounds on the convention floor and quickly alerted Zach, a longtime racing fan and driver himself. Thanks to connections with Turning Point USA staff, Zach was able to join an interview at a nearby booth and speak directly with Patrick.
During the interview, Zach asked Patrick about a Washington state initiative aimed at protecting biological women’s sports. Patrick, who famously competed as a woman in the male-dominated world of professional racing, voiced strong support for keeping men and women’s sports separate, citing biological differences in strength and hormones and calling the current debate “ludicrous.”
After covering policy, the conversation took a lighter turn. Zach showed Patrick footage of a crash from his own racing career, prompting her to review the incident and clear him of fault. When Zach asked for advice about returning to racing, Patrick delivered a blunt — and humorous — verdict, suggesting it might not be the right path for him.
