In a fiery post-election debrief on The Ari Hoffman Show, Washington State GOP Chairman and Rep. Jim Walsh (R-Aberdeen) joined host Ari Hoffman to dissect the Democrats’ iron grip on the state – and why it’s doomed to crumble like the Berlin Wall.
Walsh pulled no punches: “We haven’t been fighting a Democrat party for a very, very long time. We’re fighting a Socialist party.” With Bob Ferguson poised to hike taxes (including a potential state income tax) and gas prices soaring to nation-leading highs under left-wing policies, everyday Washingtonians are feeling the squeeze – from skyrocketing property taxes threatening to boot seniors and families from their homes to indoctrination overtaking reading, writing, and math in public schools.
But there’s hope in the trenches. The GOP’s powerhouse school board program is racking up wins, backing common-sense conservatives to reclaim education from political agendas and build a growing caucus inside the Washington State School Directors Association (WASDA). “We win most of them,” Walsh boasted, noting these quiet victories shape daily life far more than flashy gubernatorial races.
On messaging, Walsh’s playbook is simple: Tell the truth relentlessly. Social media blasts comparing WA’s gas prices to the rest of the country rack up 100,000 views, while highlighting property tax relief resonates with voters of all ages. A hidden bright spot? Voters under 40 are splitting evenly between parties – a “great future indicator” as young people reject the chaos.
Looking to 2026 midterms, Walsh urged normal Americans to step up: “Show up and be normal. Use common sense. This will take the day.” He warned the establishment can’t hide failing policies forever – Ferguson’s eccentricity and Reich’s school ruin will crack under pressure.
Hoffman echoed the call: If you’ve ever considered running, now’s the time. Uncontested races handed Democrats this mess; it’s not enough to vote anymore.
As Walsh predicted a collapse, one thing’s clear: The GOP is refocusing on school boards, city councils, and grassroots sanity. The left’s wall has cracks – and it’s only a matter of time before it falls.
