The Seattle Mariners defeated the Detroit Tigers 8-4 in Game 3 of the ALDS on Tuesday at Comerica Park in Detroit. The game, which was originally scheduled for a 4:08 p.m. ET start time, was delayed due to rainy weather and started at 7 p.m.

Seattle starter Logan Gilbert went six innings, giving up just four hits while striking out seven, and giving up one run in the fifth inning. On offense, Seattle had two runs in the third, with solo home runs from Eugenio Suarez in the fourth, and J.P. Crawford in the sixth; with Cal Raleigh extending the Mariners lead to 8-1 with a two-run blast in the top of the ninth. Despite a rally from the Tigers in the ninth to score three runs, Mariners relief pitcher Andres Muñoz came into the game at the bottom of the ninth, and secured the win for Seattle.

With the Game 3 win, the Mariners have taken a 2-1 series lead, and are one win away from advancing to the ALCS. Game 4 is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at Comerica Park in Detroit.

The NY Yankees avoided elimination with a 9-6 comeback win over the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 3 of their ALDS series at Yankee Stadium, forcing a Game 4.

New York was trailing 6-1 in the third inning, when Aaron Judge hit a game-tying three-run homer in the fourth inning, and Jazz Chisholm Jr. had the go-ahead homer in the fifth inning to give the Yankees the lead, and subsequent win.

Game 4 will be Wednesday night in NY, with the Jays leading the best-of-five series 2-1. The Yankees will be attempting  to become the eighth team to win a Division Series after dropping the first two games (which they also accomplished in 2017).
