“Lawlessness…with zero ramifications” in Pierce County, says Sheriff

Lady justice, scales of justice

Pierce County Sheriff spokesman, Ed Troyer, has been expanding his warnings about crime and public safety problems in his jurisdiction and lists several recent examples of violent criminals going after law enforcement.

In an interview with KVI host, John Carlson, Troyer says “the new laws in the state have made it that way” and points to the stolen car crisis in Washington. “We used to have two-(hundred) three-hundred cars stolen a month in Pierce County 3-4 years ago, now some times we hit 900 a month stolen,” says Troyer.

He adds, “We just have so much lawlessness out there with zero ramifications that they (criminal suspects) are not afraid of the police and they know if they do get caught that they’re gonna be out (of jail custody) by the end of the day or the next day (while awaiting trial).”
