Tanker into ditch near Hood Canal Bridge
(Poulsbo, North Kitsap) A large tanker trailer with a full load veered off the highway as it was turning from Highway 3 onto State Route 104, approaching the Hood Canal Bridge this afternoon around 2pm. Weather may have been a factor when the truck over-shot the turn and its cab sunk into the damp grassy area just east of the bridge.
The 46 year old driver from Roy was uninjured. North-bound traffic was slowed to one lane and traffic piled up for approximately 2 miles south of the bridge on Highway 3. The Washington State Patrol is investigating the incident.
