Orcas near Olympia

Channel: On the Scene

Location: South Sound near Olympia WA.

My son Andrew and I took our little boat out for a cruise around the south Sound. As you can imagine we were quite surprised to see these whales breaching and splashing all over the place. We watched them for about 45 minutes and I took several dozen shots with my camera.

Those are some fantastic shots! I'm here in New Jersey and if that doesn't help the tourism industry in Washington, then nothing will.

Wow - you must have a really nice zoom lens to get pictures like that from 100 yards away. Nice shots!
