I have always wanted to ride my horse (Gus) in the snow! Today that dream finally came true! Most years we don't get enough snow for that, but this storm has given us not only a large amount, but also has kept it dry enough that my horse's feet don't get "snowballed" (that's when snow builds up and forms an icy snowball stuck to the bottom of the hoof and it's not good.). It was wonderful, although more bouncy than usual as he was picking up his feet more to get though the snow. I've been into horses since age 12 (that's 13 years now). My parents own a small ten acre farm east of the Renton highlands with a few chickens (who refuse to touch the snow) and several horses (some theirs, some boarded).
