I am from Federal Way and work in the Seattle area as a network security consultant. In the Army Reserves I am a Foreign Area Officer and I am a Vietnamese speaker. My wife was a Vietnamese boat person and has been in the US since 1980.

I was selected to be the first US Officer to attend Vietnam's National Defense Academy in Hanoi. I competed with several active duty officers and was selected base on my language and past experiences.

The course is 3 months long, I will leave Vietnam to return to Seattle on 7 June.
