My name is George Patterson, owner of Self Serve Garage (SSG), the only Do-it-Yourself automotive repair shop open to the public in the Pacific NW. I am an US Army Veteran trying to do my part, giving back to the community.
I believe my business is an interesting topic for motorist in the Pacific NW, and could be a useful resource to your listeners. Not every community can say they have an option for expensive vehicle repairs. Currently, there are not many like businesses such as this one nationwide.
I opened this business to give vehicle owners of the Pacific NW an option for expensive vehicle repairs and maintenance. I offer a safe, clean, and professional environment for vehicle owners to maintain their vehicles. My shop is equipped with hydraulic lifts, tools/equipment, online reference material, and I also offer FREE repair seminars from ASE Certified Mechanics on basic vehicle maintenance, (tune-ups, oil changes, brake repairs, etc).
On average SSG saves vehicle owners 50-70% on vehicle repairs and maintenance.
I will give you an example of savings from up selling of parts and service. A new customer to SSG went to a quick lube place for an oil change. The vehicle had high miles, so of course, and the vehicle needed synthetic blend oil (more expensive). The service technician reported rust on the fuel filter, and it should be replaced. The technician quoted a price of $209 in addition to the oil change. The customer would have paid over $250 for an oil and fuel filter change. Now the customer heard about SSG, came to my shop, spent about 1.5 hours = $30, plus AutoZone has specials for oil and oil filter, $19.99. The fuel filter part was $29.57. Total cost for repair and maintenance, $79.56.
I have more examples of these types of savings, but you can do your own research and find similar stories. What I really want is an opportunity to present my services to your listeners. I would also entertain hosting an event with your organization here at my facility.
