Paul Harvey is on KVI
Hear Paul's 5-minute "News and Comment" Monday-Saturday mornings at 5:55am on KVI; his 15-minute news roundup Monday-Saturday at 11:45am and the popular "Rest of the Story" Monday-Friday at 5:55pm. Paul Harvey has said that he was raised in radio newsrooms. During his time in those newsrooms, he has broadcast the news to millions, built an active professional life and established himself as one of the foremost newsmen in the business. Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Paul began his radio career in 1933 at KVOO-AM, Tulsa, while he was still in high school. After stops in Salina, Kansas, Oklahoma City and St. Louis, he moved to Hawaii in 1940 to cover the U.S. Navy as it began to concentrate its fleet in the Pacific. He enlisted into the Army Air Corp, where he served until 1944. After leaving the corps, Paul moved to Chicago where he quickly became the most listened-to newscaster in Chicago. Paul Harvey began his coast-to-coast "News and Comment" on the ABC Radio Networks in 1951 and added "The Rest of the Story" in 1976. In honor of a lifetime of broadcast excellence, Paul Harvey is one of the latest recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civil award. When asked about the honor, Mr. Harvey said "The industry has been very generous over the years, but this, I'm sure you know, is set apart in a category all by itself".
