He is the reason Northwest legend, “The Ventures” are in The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, he has sung and played percussion with The Beach Boys, and along with Yoko Ono. and Elliot Mintz he helped create the “John Lennon 50th Anniversary”/BeatleExpo event “Across The Universe”with nationwide radio play of the song “Imagine. Then there was that World Record of “sitting in a hot tub of hot chocolate” (just shy of 30 hours).
Mark Christopher, youngest of seven, emerged from the neighborhood of Seattle’s Queen Anne Hill and was just behind Kathi Goertzen at QA High School (she was a cheerleader, he was part of the drumline). Dad was a test pilot/flight trainer at Boeing following a miraculous survival of being shot down in Dutch Harbor in June 42'. Mom was owner of one of Seattle’s first women’s consignment clothing stores in the 70's called Mary’s Pop’In’s (many women television anchors were her customers).
Pre- radio for Mark would include employment with BC Air/Lake Union Sea Plane Company and being a room service waiter at The Edgewater Hotel. His first celebrity room delivery was actress Connie Stevens who answered the door in a bath robe and no makeup, he was one of few ever to see Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley outside of KISS makeup during the height of their career and is the only radio personality in Walt Parazaiders cell phone address book (original member of CHICAGO). After a few years of radio experience in Colfax, Shelton, and Spokane he returned to Seattle in 1982 with hirings at KIXI FM, KJR, KLSY and KBSG (midday talent just shy of 20 years).
Most recent Mark was PR/Marketing for Alaska’s Deadliest Catch Sea Star Tours (w/Sig, Larry, Phil and Edgar), he is a scout for The Seattle Sea Gals Cheerleaders (actually he has been through Spring Tryouts) , a weekend/utility position at WARM 106.9 and had a solo position to debut 104.5 KMCQ. Today he is seen as a pledge host at KCTS 9 and “Captain Noah Lott” at “Ride The Ducks Seattle” Tours.
