Some of our fellow Washingtonians are fighting to keep their little town green. The little town of Index, WA, has begun a campaign to raise money to buy the forested hillside outside their town, to keep it from being logged. Instead of suing or tying the process up endlessly in the political sphere, they decided to respect the right to private property and buy the land instead. What an novel idea! Their teacher asked their parents for permission to allow them to imbibe on the trip but local police authorities aren't happy, saying early drinking can cause problems later in like. What say you?
