Students required to sign “No twerking” pledge for dances

In the wake of the “twerk heard ‘round the world” by ‘singer’ Miley Cyrus at the September MTV Video Music Awards, two high schools in the North Thurston district in Lacey are requiring students to sign a ‘no twerking’ pledge if they want to attend dances this year. With homecoming festivities set for tomorrow night at the schools, John Carlson, finds out how some of the students feel about this pledge and explains his theory for why kids won’t spend much time ‘twerkin’ on the dance floor.
