Founder of the website Airsafe.com and a 9-year veteran of Boeing, Todd Curtis, says it’s not pilot error but the cockpit decision making which is at the heart of the San Francisco crash of Flight 214. Curtis says that given the crash circumstances it’s astounding that fatalities weren’t worse but the passenger safety is a result of the tedious planning by Boeing engineers and the rigorous training of the flight crew to evacuate passengers with only a few viable escape routes.
