Semi truck rollover crash closes I-5 lanes in S. Seattle
The semi truck rolled onto its side in the median embankment.
SEATTLE - Four lanes of Interstate 5 are closed through South Seattle after a crash involving a rolled-over semi truck, officials said.

State troopers and medics responded to the scene, I-5 just south of South Michigan Street, at about 9:40 a.m. after receiving a report that a northbound semi truck had crashed.

They found a semi on its side in the median between the northbound and southbound lanes. Two lanes were closed on both sides of the freeway due to concerns that the semi might continue to roll down an embankment into the southbound lanes.

The driver of the semi sustained minor injuries in the crash and was taken away in an ambulance. A second person also was injured.

The cause of the crash was not immediately known.

Traffic backups extend for about four miles from the crash scene on southbound I-5 and about two miles on northbound I-5
