Scott CartyCreative Services Director
We now know that years Scott Carty spent talking to himself and to a variety of inanimate objects is paying off. Most of his day is spent isolated in a sound-proof room (which we regularly lock from the OUTSIDE). In reality this is nothing more than a small cell with padded walls.
Scott brings a friendly voice to a wide variety of commercials for our advertisers. He claims he's heard on all the commercials you really like. After over ten years with Fisher Radio, he is often asked to give advice to those who want a lucrative career in the lonely world of commercial production and voice-over, and he's quick to respond: "Ummm. Well. Uhhh. I, uhh. Mmmm." We found there is a very obvious reason he hires copywriters for his team. For those who won't settle for such "shallow mentoring platitudes" (WHOA ... apparently Scott has a THESAURUS), his advice is: "Be a good writer, first. Then spend time imagining, spend more time listening, spend even more time watching and then use your spare time to try to tell great stories in 60-seconds or less." |
