Bryan Suits

The Bryan Suits Show
5-9am weekdays

Bryan Suits is a rarity in radio: a host who served in the War on Terror and other deployments. While some choke up over their love of America, Bryan has put skin in the game.

Born in Honolulu, Bryan grew up in Washington. After Washington State University, he worked as a broker-trainee at Drexel Burnham Lambert, but the mini-crash of 1989 forced a re-examination of his career.

Bryan enlisted in the Army Reserve to fund a graduate degree, and assist in liberating Kuwait. Called to active duty for Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Bryan served as a Combat Medic with the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment.

Returning State side, Bryan entered radio the old fashioned way: an influential friend. He began working as an assistant producer on KROQ’s “Kevin and Bean Morning Show” in LA.

Soon after Bryan went solo, settling in Portland, when Bosnia called. The National Guard seemed to be conflicting with a radio career, but hey, free trip, right? Wrong. Bryan's year in Bosnia was "formative". He learned: 1) Evil men look like you and me. 2) Evil men don't fear weenies. 3) There is no neutrality with murder. And 4) Get into talk radio!

In Seattle, Bryan was given a shot on KIRO-AM. As a conservative, he was stereotyped and ridiculed, but he plowed ahead with his unique humor and jaw-dropping brilliance. When September 11th came, Bryan was still a member of the Oregon Army Guard. Someone in charge realized war was on the horizon and all Sergeants with college degrees and combat experience were urged: quit your job and go to Officer Candidate School. At some point Bryan met a police officer, Rachel, and asked if she'd watch his dogs while he went to Iraq, and then marry him. She said yes to both.

14 months, three wounds and a Bronze Star later, Bryan returned to Seattle in 2005. After two years on KVI’s evening show, Bryan was fired right before Veteran's Day weekend. He appreciated the irony.

In December 2007, KFI in Los Angeles hired Bryan to take over the evening show. In April of 2009, Rachel and Bryan were blessed with a daughter, Reagan Ladybug Suits. Yes, she's named after Ronald Reagan. (Gipper would've been weird). Bryan and Rachel began exploring options outside California. As a fan of irony, Bryan appreciated the chance to return to KVI as a topical, entertaining morning host. So, here we are.

Bryan continues to host his military-oriented show “The Dark Secret Place” on KFI Sundays.
