About AM 570 KVIAM 570 KVI is a conservative talk station owned by Fisher Communications of Seattle. It has two sister stations, KOMO-AM and KPLZ-FM; and several sister television stations including KOMO-TV (ABC Television). Fisher also owns several other television stations throughout the Northwest, including the Univision affiliate (KUNS) in Seattle. KVI was one of the first stations in the nation to adopt the conservative talk format, and certainly one of the first to help propel Rush Limbaugh to national fame. At the time, we were in the middle of the George Bush presidiency, and the format seemed to excel when Bill Clinton assumed residency in the White House. There were many "unhappy campers" looking for a radio station who would reflect their frustrations of the day. KVI has always maintained a strong commitment to local programming, while also choosing some of the most interesting and compelling national programming. In 2004, we affiliated with Fox News, and a strong local/national perspective that suited our audience became a step in our evolution of which we remain very proud. |
